The adventure
begins! Imagine watching the water level move up your mask as you slowly
dive below the surface - and continue to breathe! It's the most exciting
feeling imaginable. The NAUI SCUBA Diver course will teach you everything
you need to know to independently and competently scuba dive, to explore
and discover.
During your course, you will be given the fundamental knowledge and instructed on the skills needed to be a safe and comfortable diver. The classroom portion of the course will instruct you on:
environment
decompression theory
diving equipment
physics
navigation
physiology
as well as dive planning so you can get the most from your diving adventures. By mastering the water skills, you will be assured of your ability to handle yourself in the open water environment without supervision.
Your open water class does not require a large time commitment, since our schedule is a short, three-day class:
Friday night from 6:00pm - 10:00pm
Saturday from 9:00am - 4:00pm (bring lunch)
Sunday from 9:00am - 5:00pm (bring lunch)
Each session is split between classroom and pool instruction (and of course, some free time for play in the pool). Your instructors will work patiently with you to ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment. After you have successfully completed your class, pool training and a multiple choice test, you will be ready to take the new skills you have learned to a real dive site where the fun really begins. Your open water certification dives are conducted over a weekend to one of several destinations we visit monthly, or you may choose to complete your certification with us on one of our many dive trips.
A Letter of Referral can also be issued. Referral fee is $50.00
